Next Generation

Philadelphia has the highest proportion of people age 65+ of the 10 largest cities in the United States. This presents both opportunities and challenges for young professionals working in a broad range of disciplines, including urban planning, the arts, social work, government and philanthropy. How can they learn more about the aging population?

Click here to learn about GenPhilly, a network of emerging professionals who are inspiring Philadelphians to connect with older adults through their work and personal lives. Through creative programming and professional development opportunities, the group works to change stereotypes and establish Philadelphia as a lifelong community. GenPhilly coordinates a minimum of six events annually to educate, support, and provide networking opportunities for  members, and to introduce GenPhilly and its goals to the city at large.
