PCA Library Online

PCA's book collection numbers about 3700 volumes and 300 videos on Aging subjects

The PCA Library is a gerontology/geriatrics library created in 1978. Its mission is to serve the information needs of PCA staff and of the aging network and, in so doing, help PCA fulfill its mission of improving the quality of life of older Philadelphians and our community’s adult disabled. 
 
In the PCA Library you can find...

• Statistics on Philadelphia's elderly population
• Recent research in the field of aging
• Information resources for aging-related research
• Approximately 100 aging-related journals, and other periodicals 
• Over 3700 books, reports, and audio tapes 
• Over 300 videos 
• A collection of winning proposals for providing services to PCA’s consumers, submitted by PCA subcontractors 
• A Vertical file with thousands of aging related news items, articles, booklets, and pamphlets
• Reference collection including such items as The Encyclopedia of Aging and The Encyclopedia of Gerontology
• The Library can also provide 2000 Census demographic data on the elderly down to the census tract or zip code level for the five-county area 
• A multi-media computer with high-speed Internet access is also available for reserved use by library users

Three Ways to Find the Information You Need:

2) Visit the Library:
Lending privileges are extended to PCA staff and members of the aging network only, however, the Library is open to the public by appointment.

As a contribution to the Emergency Fund, there is a 10 cents per page fee charged for photocopies.
