Providing quality care, programs, resources and support for America's aging population has become an exceptional challenge in the 21st century – and nowhere more so than in Philadelphia, which has a larger percentage of seniors than any of the 20 largest cities in the nation. As a result, Philadelphia offers a diversity of career opportunities in these fields.

Save the Date: March 26, 2012 PCA's 2012 M. Powell Lawton Conference on Urban Aging & Award Luncheon
Members of the aging network and community leaders are invited to the conference. 'Aging in Community: Three Models.' The Lawton Award will be presented to Fredda Vladeck, founding director of the first NORC supportive service program in 1986 and current director of Aging in Place Initiative of the United Hospital Fund (NY). Register by March 14: www.pcaCares.org/lawton

Networking for Young Professionals
GenPhilly is an informal  network of emerging professionals from a broad range of disciplines - aging, the arts, education, health care and business, among others. The group provides creative programming and professional development opportunities, and works to change stereotypes about aging and to establish Philadelphia as a lifelong community for all of us.
